Iron Man UK 20th
Andy Noble had a fine performance in the Ironman event he took part in on Sunday 20th June. The event includes a 1.2 mile swim 39mins a 56 mile bike ride in4hrs 28min (with a puncture) and a half marathon in 2hrs 51min 43sec (some serious climbs) a total time of 8hrs 6min 38s. Well done Andy although this is not the full distance like the one at Bolton 1st August it is still considered the toughest Ironman event.

Chase Harriers Dinner Dance & Presentation Evening 6th February
I would like to thank the staff of the St. Thomas Priory Golf Club again for there efforts in making our presentation evening a success. Everyone enjoyed the food the DJ that attended again this year played a great selection of records. Some of our members surprised me towards the end of the night when the drink started to take its toll. There dance moves have been recorded. Pictures will follow shortly and no doubt another club video will be produced of the more embarasing moments. Justified winners were awarded there trophies well done again to those winners. Remember to give me the results of any races that you do and maybe next year it could be your turn to recieve a trophy. Check out the Chase Gallery for the photos!
HARE & HOUNDS
Thanks to everyone who supported our Hare & Hounds run last Sunday including members of Sneyd Striders who support the event every year. This year the charity donation total came to £80. Once again thanks for your support and a big thanks to Steve, Maurice and Pete for being the hares and marking the course. Check out the photos at the Chase Gallery.

Sleepless In the Saddle 2009 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race
This has been a very tiring weekend for Andy Thompson, Andy Soltysik, Mitch Blundell and Wayne Ward who took part in a gruelling 24 hour mountain bike race over Catton Park. The race started at 2pm on Saturday 8th Aug and finished 2pm Sunday 9th August.
The course was very hilly with muddy singletrack weaving through the woods of Catton Park. As a team we took turns to ride the seven mile course and we each did 6 laps.
I think everyone in the team would agree that the night rides presented the greatest challenge - not only navigating the course in the dark but actualy getting up to take their turn! A big thanks to Andy Soltysik who stepped in at the 11th hour and gave a sterling performance.

Hi just thought i would let you know about the Viking challenge which i completed on Sunday. The day started when i was picked up by my friend`s and taken to Nottingham where we had to sign in. Then we went to the start line and commenced in the 9.30am section. The start was miss leading as 2 mile into the race came the hills and the sweat..... after 10 mile`s there was a refreshment stop with cakes and hot and cold drinks. The next section of the course took you over a air field for 3 miles and the wind was intense. The next stop there was sandwiches and drinks and chocolate bars. The end could not come quick enough and cramp started to kick in on the last mile as i tried to pick up the pace but i made it in 3 house 22 minutes beating one of my friends by 10 minutes which I was pleased about as he is a regular up the chase 3 times a week. When he asked how I did it I replied ` easy I run for chase harriers` ha . In all it was a great day and look forward to next year.
Chris
additional: It sounds like you had a great time, thank you for sharing it with us. if you have any photos please email them to me.
Cheers
